ASVI is a non-governmental agency (Onlus) focused on social transformation. Its mission is to empower the non profit sector both nationally and internationally through education, training, net-working and R&D Activities. It acts as an agent of change by investing in the implementation and training of skills in both management and project-management areas.
ASVI promotes and works with some of the most active non-profit organizations in a network of over 1000 clients and partners, and is committed to the training of managers and other roles within these organizations. One of the notable networks promoted by ASVI is the “Observatory of Labour and Professionals in the Non-Profit Sector”.
The Masters Programs offered by ASVI are officially sponsored by the Third Sector Forum (an organization that represents the Italian non-profit sector) and are recognized as initiatives for public benefit. To date, these programs are organized twice yearly (May and November) in International Masters in Cooperative Project Management, Euro-Project Management and in Fund-Raising Management.
In addition to its Masters Programs, ASVI organizes SHORT COURSES for those individuals who are unable to follow an on-line Masters but require a decisive and superior training that is difficult to obtain through simple local courses or workshops. ASVI’s WORKSHOPS are full-immersion courses in classrooms for those who wish to intensify their managerial knowledge with experts in the subjects of Fundraising Management, Euro-Project Management, Strategic Mission Planning and Budgeting, Human Resource Management and Human Resource Development.
ASVI can boast its success to its achievement in supporting the growth of non-profit organizations through its establishment in the sector, in the efficiency of its subject matters, in the solidity of its tools and in the vastness of its network.
Articles
The 1998 article entitled “Il Manager del Non Profit” (The Non-Profit Manager) is a good basis for a description of Management in Italian Non-Profit Organizations.
“La Collana sulle professioni del Non-Profit” (2005) is comprised of various volumes focused on career strategies, paths and innovative tools for existing and emerging professional roles such as Campaigners, Fund-Raisers, Euro-Project Managers, Social Entrepreneurs, Non-Profit Communication Managers, and Social Welfare and Education Coordinators.
Research and Development
ASVI’s research and development sector works without prejudice and is committed to achieve and carry out the ASVI mission through research and development focused on a conscious growth of the Non-Profit sector. Research and Development is transversal to the other activities and is an enabler of excellence. It is self-financed or co-financed through European Union funds.
With regards to planning, ASVI considers “projects” as a positive enabler of social transformation and as a long-term method of beneficial impact on society. Those who benefit are viewed as logical participants in a “bottom-up” organization and as partners in the creation of a diverse scenario. The partnership concept is fundamental to the values of ASVI, and is considered essential to the exchange of good practices and adds value to European society in general. Evaluation is seen as a strategic lever in project management and a strong emphasis is placed on project evaluation once the project is completed.
