Leeds Metropolitan University prides itself of being a university of applied learning and research and supports local national and international communities in its work. The University consists of five Faculties: Information and Engineering Systems; Health and Environment; Leeds Business School; Culture and Education Studies; Further Education/Harrogate College. Each of these faculties is divided into schools. The MOSE Project will be supported by staff from the School of Information Management in the Faculty of Information and Engineering Systems.
The School of Information Management focuses on the analysis, design, development, and application of Information Systems to meet the needs of individuals, groups and organisations in all sectors of the economy and society. This is a broad area of activity spanning areas such as Business Information Management, Information Systems, Business Information Technology, Knowledge Management and Organisation Learning. Studies within the School address Information Systems which range from those supporting the achievement of the strategic aims of large corporations, through those operational systems under-pinning the day-to-day activity of organisations, to Information Systems which support individuals and community groups in their pursuit of knowledge. The School actively promotes research in these areas and has been successful in obtaining funding from national and European Union sources.
